FeedLock

At a glance

FeedLock blocks feeds on your phone. It uses Android's Accessibility service only to recognise the apps and feeds you chose to block so it can close them; it never records, stores or sends what you see or type. Your rules, sessions, screen time and stats stay on your device. There is no account. If you do not have Pro, FeedLock shows ads through Google AdMob (native, interstitial and app-open ads); AdMob and Google may use the Android advertising ID, device information, your IP address (approximate location) and ad interactions to serve and measure them, and in the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent form is shown first. Pro removes all ads, and ads are never shown during an active focus session. What you see, type or which apps you use is never used for ads or sent to AdMob. The app reports anonymous crash reports, usage events and performance data to Google Firebase (usage and performance reporting can be switched off in Settings; crash reports cannot) and registers a push token so we can send announcements. No screen content, typed text or names of your apps are ever sent. Purchases are handled by Google Play, and the app downloads a public list of feed signatures so blocking keeps working when apps change.

  • No personal data required to use the app
  • No account needed
  • Contains ads
  • Limited sharing with named partners

This Privacy Policy explains how MobileMint (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the FeedLock mobile application (the “App”). It applies to the App only. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We are deliberately minimal about data. The App collects only what is described below, and nothing more:

DataWhy & how
Accessibility serviceUsed only on your device to see which app is in front and whether a feed you chose to block (such as Reels or Shorts) is open, so FeedLock can close it. Screen content is never recorded, stored, logged or sent anywhere.
Usage accessReads Android's own app-usage totals to show your screen time by app. These numbers are read and shown on your phone only and are never uploaded.
Installed appsThe list of launchable apps and their icons, so you can pick which ones to block. It stays on your phone.
Rules, sessions and stats (on device)Your block list, schedules, daily limit, session state, blocked-attempt counts and streak are stored locally on your phone and deleted when you uninstall.
PurchasesSubscriptions and one-time unlocks are processed by Google Play. FeedLock checks your purchase on the device; we never receive your payment details.
Usage eventsAnonymous events such as which FeedLock screens are opened, that setup finished, which permissions were granted, whether a session was strict and roughly how long (for example 1h), why it ended, which upgrade screen was shown and whether a purchase completed. Never the content of your screen, what you type, or the names of your apps. You can switch this off in Settings > Privacy.
Crash and performance diagnosticsIf the app crashes or runs slowly, the device model, Android version, app version, app language and a stack trace are sent so the fault can be fixed, along with start-up and network timings. Crash reports are always on; performance data can be switched off in Settings > Privacy.
Push tokenA Firebase Cloud Messaging token lets us send occasional announcements from the Firebase console. It identifies your installation, not you.
Feed signature updatesThe app periodically downloads a small, public, signed file that describes how to recognise each feed. The request contains no data about you or your usage beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address).
Advertising ID (ads)Android advertising ID, shared with Google AdMob for advertising and analytics. Used only for users without Pro; the ads SDK is never started for Pro users. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it is controlled by the consent form (Google UMP), which you can reopen in Settings > Privacy ("Privacy choices"). You can reset or delete the advertising ID in Android settings.
Device information for adsDevice model and Android version, sent to Google AdMob with ad requests for advertising and analytics. Only for users without Pro, and subject to the same consent choice in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
Approximate location from IP address (ads)AdMob derives an approximate location from the IP address of ad requests, shared with Google AdMob for advertising and analytics. Only for users without Pro, and subject to the same consent choice in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. FeedLock never reads your precise location.
Ad interactions and diagnosticsAd impressions and taps, plus crash and diagnostic data from the ads SDK, shared with Google AdMob for advertising and analytics. Only for users without Pro, and subject to the same consent choice in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Screen content, typed text and the apps you use are never used for ads or sent to AdMob.
Device admin (required during setup)FeedLock asks you to turn on uninstall protection in the last setup step. This makes FeedLock a device admin only so it can't be removed during a strict session. It uses no admin policies: it cannot lock, wipe or monitor your device.

How we use information

We use the information above solely to operate, maintain, and improve the App — for example, to provide its core features, keep it stable by diagnosing crashes, and understand which features are useful in aggregate. We do not use your information for profiling unrelated to the App, and we never sell it.

Analytics

The App uses privacy-conscious analytics to collect aggregated, anonymous information about usage and stability. This helps us fix bugs and decide what to build next. These analytics are not used to identify you personally.

Advertising

The App is free and supported by advertising. Our advertising partner may use your device’s advertising identifier to show ads and limit how often you see the same ad. You can reset or limit this identifier at any time in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads. We do not share your name, email, or contacts with advertisers.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers. Each processes data only as needed for the purpose listed and under their own privacy policy:

  • Google Play Billing— Processes subscriptions and one-time purchases..Privacy policy ↗
  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Performance Monitoring)— Anonymous usage events, crash reports, performance measurements and announcement push messages. No screen content, typed text or app names are ever sent..Privacy policy ↗
  • Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)— Shows and measures ads for users without Pro, using the Android advertising ID, device information, IP address and ad interactions. Never receives screen content, typed text or app names..Privacy policy ↗
  • GitHub Pages— Hosts the public feed-signature file the app downloads. No personal data is sent..Privacy policy ↗

Data storage & security

Where data is stored on our servers, it is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected with industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and associated data from within the App, or by emailing us. To exercise any right, email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Data deletion

Everything FeedLock stores lives on your phone, so deleting it is immediate and needs no request to us. The anonymous Firebase data is not tied to your name or an account; uninstalling stops any further reporting and Google deletes it on its normal retention schedule.

  1. 1If a strict session is running, wait for it to end (or use the cooldown).
  2. 2Switch uninstall protection off in FeedLock's Shield tab (or in Android Settings > Security > Device admin apps).
  3. 3Uninstall FeedLock. Your rules, sessions, screen-time cache and stats are removed with it.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate legal or operational reasons. Anonymous, aggregated analytics may be retained to understand long-term trends. When you delete your data, we remove it from active systems promptly and from backups within a reasonable period.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
